Session handouts

One-page guides for each class meeting — the operations, key dimensions, and checkpoints. Print the current one before class, or pull it up on your phone at the bench.

  1. Session 1 — Kickoff: brace stock + bridge Make the top brace set and the bridge — the build's two "bookends." Includes the brace dimension table.

  2. Session 2 — Join and thickness plates; bend sides Glue up the top and back plates, thickness them, and bend the sides in the mold.

  3. Session 3 — Soundhole, layout, top/back bracing Cut the soundhole, lay out the bracing, and glue the top and back braces.

  4. Session 4 — Blocks, linings, rim geometry Fit the neck and tail blocks, install kerfed linings, and true up the rim.

  5. Session 5 — Fit and glue back/top; trim body Close the body: glue the back and top to the rim, then trim the overhang.

  6. Session 6 — Body cleanup; supplied neck/fingerboard fit Clean up the body and dry-fit the supplied neck and fretboard with the dowel joint.

  7. Session 7 — Surface prep, masking, simple finish Sand, mask the fretboard and bridge areas, and start the finish coats.

  8. Session 8 — Bridge/neck glue, then setup after cure (two visits) Glue the bridge and neck, let everything cure, then final setup to a playable instrument.
