Shop jigs
Small fixtures that make the hand work accurate and repeatable. Each jig below has a build guide, a dimensioned design sheet, and — where useful — a 3D model you can rotate and inspect.
Brace-planing jig
The block plane rides sole-down on two rails while the brace blank lies taped in the channel between them. The blade cuts the blank flush with the rail tops, so the exposed rail height equals the finished dimension — swap the rail pair to change dimensions; the base never changes. Used in Session 1 for every top-brace part.
The jig with 3/8″ rails and a main transverse brace blank. Outer walls fence the 2″ plane body; the 1-5/8″ blade spans the 1-1/4″ channel.
